You will recall that Mr. Richard was to have visited our troops in the Far East from the 25th May to the 7th June.

As a result of the announcement that the General Election is to be on the 18th June, Mr. Richard has decided to cancel this visit.

I am sending copies of this letter to Barrington (FCO), Warren (Chief hip's Office) and Lloyd Jones (Cabinet Office).
