Oyama Shipping Co., Ltd. is the liner operator specializing in Japan/ Southeast Asia services, and regularly operates 32 sailings monthly, and the Japan/Hongkong service, 14 of them are for Japan/Hongkong service, is the main business for the company. For these five years the company has been securing the top position among the domestic and foreign shipping companies operating on this route and its load- ing share now is about 40% of all loading cargoes for Hongkong, and also share in the other routes for Southeast Asia is at the top.
4. Present status of Japan Lease International Corporation and Nippon
International Container Services Co., Ltd. which constitute Kowloon Container Ware-House Co., Ltd. with Oyama Shipping Co., Ltd.
Japan Lease International Corporation started lease business in Japan earlier than any other companies and still occupied the biggest share in Japan. It started leasing container in Japan last year. For this new business the company newly formed its subsidiary Nippon Inter- national Container Services Co., Ltd. and this new company has start- ed container business in Southeast Asia in cooperation with Oyama Shipping Co., Ltd. as a general agent of Oyama Shipping Co., Ltd. and as a agent of ware-house companies and stevedore companies. The company has also started leasing containers to the U.S. in cooperation with Nippon Yusen Kaisha and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, and its share is the biggest in Japan as the container lease company.
