Tenders were called for on two bases, namely:-
*
The successful tenderer taking a grant of seabed
and carrying out all the development work on his
own account; or
* Government constructing the seawall and carrying
out the filling before handing the area over to
the successful tenderer for completion of the work.
The normal
The tenders have all been awarded on the former basis, and the
tendered premium will be payable in 20 annual instalments.
Crown rent for the area of $500 per acre per annum will be payable.
Berth 1, covering an area of about 25 acres, has been awarded to
the Modern Terminals, Ltd.
Berth 2, awarded to the Kowloon Container Warehouse Co., Ltd., also
has an area of about 25 acres.
Berth 3, covers an area of approximately 32 acres and has beon
awarded to Sea-Land Orient Ltd.
Only one tender was received for Berth 4 but this tender had
subsequently been withdrawn.
