Ordinance, the Governor in Council may, on rescinding the

deportation order in force in respect of any person, require

that person to enter into a recognizance in the prescribed

form in such amount and with such sureties as the Governor

in Council may specify.

(3) A requirement under subsection (2) shall be deemed

for the purposes of the provisions of the Magistrates

Ordinance relating to recognizances to be an order under

subsection (1) of section 61 of that Ordinance.

Miscellaneous powers of inmigration officers.

52. (1) For the purposes of this Ordinance,

immigration officer may

an

(a) board and search any ship, aircraft, vehicle or

train which has arrived in Hong Keng (not being

a ship of war or a military aircraft);

(b) search any person being examined under section 3

and any property belonging to him or under his

control;

(c) detain for not more than seven days

(i) any document produced pursuant to paragraph

(b) of subsection (5) of section 4; or

(ii) found on any person searched under paragraph

(b) of this subsection;

(a) arrest and detain any person if he has reason

to suspect that such person has committed an

offence under this Ordinance;
