(3) The Commissioner of Police shall, at the request

of the Director of Immigration, give such directions as

the Director may specify to police officers authorized

under this section to exercise any of the powers of an

immigration officer.

(4) A police officer shall, in the exercise of any

powers which he is authorized under this section to

exercise, comply with any directions given by the

Commissioner of Police under subsection (3) in addition

to complying with directions given by the Governor under

subsection (1) of section 46.

(5) Directions given under subsection (3) shall not

be inconsistent with directions given by the Governor under

subsection (1) of section 46.

(6) In this section, "Commissioner of Police" includes

any deputy or assistant commissioner of police.

52. (1) For the purposes of this Ordinance, the

officer in command of any of Her Majesty's ships of war

and any person under his command may board and search

any ship, not exceeding five hundred gross tons and not

being a ship of war, which is proceeding through the

waters of Hong Kong.

(2) Where the officer in command of one of Her

Majesty's ships of war has reason to suspect that any ship

not exceeding five hundred gross tons is being or has been

used in the commission of an offence under subsection

(1) of section 31 or section 32, such officer and any

person under his command may
