APPLICATIONS FOR LOW-COST HOUSING

134,700 On Waiting List

There were more than 134,700 applications on the combined waiting

list for the Housing Authority and Government low-cost housing flats at

the end of June this year, according to the quarterly report of the Housing

Authority.

The combined waiting list was first opened in April, 1969, to

register eligible applicants for accommodation when they become available.

Of the 134,700 applications, 34,523 cases have been dealt with, and

17,682 passed for allocation.
