I attach a draft brief for Lord Chalfont's discussion
with Mr. William Rodgers, Treasury, and Mrs. Judith Hart,
C.D.M., on Wednesday, 7 January. I should be most grateful
for your concurrence on this by 1.0 p.m. tomorrow,
Tuesday, 6 January. Mrs. Hart does not intend that this
meeting should pre-empt discussion of details at official
level and clearly wishes to "test the temperature".
