informed by the Cabinet Office that Ministers could not be
expected to consider the Southern Yenen case further without at
the same time considering the wider proposals.
We have hud to
cccept this ruling. This megns that our cal report on dile
Southern Yonen case (MISC.260(70)2)- copy attached), which puto
forward disagreed recommendations, will be considered together
with the wider proposals in MISC(260(70)4 at the proposed
meeting of officials on 13 January.
4. The meeting between Ministers on 2 January will no doubt
be taken up with a general discussion of the wider proposals.
If vino permits, however, we recommend that Lord Chalfont should
make the following points:
(a) although HISC.260(70)1 makes no reference to
