Extension of the Copyright Act, 1956, to Hong Kong

I am replying to your letter IPCD 36862/2 of 23 April on the above subject. There are, I am afraid, a number of other letters from your Office on the same matter to which we have not as yet replied and for this I apologise.

We have referred the question of the Design Copyright ACE, 1968, to the Governor and await his reply. We shall let you

know his views as soon as we receive them.

As regards the main issue of the extension of the 1956 Act to Hong Kong, we shall be consulting you, as soon as we are in a position to do so, on the terms of a draft submission to Ministers on which we are at present working.
