Copyright Protection in Hong Kong

As you know the United Kingdom has ratified the Universal Copyright Convention signed at Geneva on 6th September, 1952.

We are writing to ask if that ratification has inherently included Hong Kong as a member of the Universal Copyright Convention, so that articles entitled to copyright protection in Hong Kong should be marked with the Universal Copyright Convention notice.

Our associates in Hong Kong have informed us that they are not sure what the position is and any other information you can give us regarding this matter would be most welcome.
