Youth Organisations.İN

For an Asian territory, Hong Hong has a large number of organisations providing youth activities. The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups has 20 youth centres and 20 affiliated youth groups sponsored by churches and other bodies with over 6000 members. The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme has had 1400 boys and 'girls participating.

The Boys and Girls Clubs Association for children of 8 to 14 age group has 12,000 members in 96 clubs with 14 craft centres, 15 children's libraries and 45 other affiliated clubs.

The Scouts Association has 15,000 members and the Girl Guides 5,000.

The Youth and Children's Division of the Hong Kọng Council has 25 youth agencies.

In addition to the above organisations, the Summer Vacation Programme, which comprises activities of all sorts, involved some 500,000 children of varying ages and from different social strata.

While there will always be some youths tto: whom youth organisations have no appeal, Hong Kong has

done its best to provide opportunities for the young to engage in worthwhile leisure activities.
