Further information has now been provided by the Ministry
Defence and is contained in the following documents copies of
which are enclosed:

(1) a revised Annex B to replace that enclosed 52) Prew with Sir Leslie Monson's letter HKK10/9 of 9th
October, 1969.
(2) a broad functional breakdown of the estimated
works costs for the garrison during the period
1971-1976.

2. As regards (1), you will note that the figures given represent
very substantial increases over those contained in the original
Annex B. The Ministry of Defence state that this is because:

12.4.76.
(a) Part II services under £5000 and Part III
services, both of which had been excluded from
the original Annex B, have now been included.
the scope and cost of some services have
been re-assessed.
(b)
(c) in the light of advice from the Commander
British Forces, Hong Kong, a number of additional
projects have now been included.
