The best solution for providing AMP for the Guardship would be to do so from within the resident capacity of the Hong Kong Base Maintenance Farty. This would provide a gain of some 11 operational ship weeks por year for tasks other than Hong Kong compared with the availability envisaged under the existing Guardship rulės. However, the individual periods of availability would hardly be sufficient to allow ships to carry out tasks outside the S.E. The UN commitment could be relaxed to allow for it to be met by ships in Singapore.
