Hong Kong Guard Ship

We understand that Ministry of Defence have sent

CBFHK copy of draft paper by Navy Department on above

subject and that Ministry expect CBF to seek your

views on it.

J. Paper re-examines guard ship commitment in light

of the fact that post-1971 it will not be possible

to make a contribution of two ships to Anzuk Naval

Force from currently planned East of Suez force of

five frigates. Paper goes on to make recommendations

for meeting the commitment in these circumstances.
