I submit a draft written reply to a Parliamentary Question

by Mr. Maurice Orbach, who led a Parliamentary delegation to

Hong Kong in October 1966.

2. No representations have been received calling for the

introduction of compulsory primary education.

On the 15th December, 1969 a question on the general issue of

compulsory education in Hong Kong was asked by Mr. Colin Jackson.

Mr. Luard then gave a factual reply to which the Minister may wish

to refer in his reply to Mr. Orbach.
