(b) Group 2 (Woven Cotton Blouses and.Shirts)
Total imports were steady. Imports from Hong Kong showed a drop, whereas Portugal and the Eastern European countries improved their shares. Mr. Ho stressed that these figures indicated that restraints by Hong Kong had permitted other suppliers to improve their position and there had therefore been no relief to the Swedish industry.
(i) Woven blouses
Total imports were up but imports from Hong Kong declined; Hong Kong's share was being taken over by Portugal.
(ii) Woven shirts
Total imports were steady but those from Hong Kong were down slightly. Imports from Portugal were up.
(c) Woven Trousers
Total imports and imports from Portugal were up but those from Hong Kong were down. Mr. Ho also drew attention to imports from U.S.A. and Belgium.
(a) Anoraks
Total imports were up and so were those from Portugal, South Korea and Finland whereas imports from Hong Kong were down.
(e) Coats
Total imports steady and imports from Hong Kong down. this item was being liberalised, there was no need to comment any further.
