A summary of Hong Kong's C.T.A. agreements (as at 1st October 1969) with other countries, and the agreement with the App. 1 United Kingdom, is at Appendix 1.
5.
There have been no major problems in the past year arising from the operation of the C.T.A.
6.
One new agreement with Australia was entered into. during the year in respect of cotton drills, other than grey, weighing between 6 oz. and 15 oz. per square yard. This has already been notified to and published by the Cotton Textiles Committee.
·7.
Should a suitable opportunity occur, the Hong Kong representatives will register our view that Article 2, which speaks of 'relaxing restrictions progressively each year with a view to their elimination as soon as possible', can no longer provide justification for the maintenance of import restrictions
