Registration of Agreements for the Purpose

of Article 102 of the United Nations Charter

With H.M.G's. concurrence the United States

Government have now registered with the United Nations

the two instruments described in paragraph 2 of our

indicates that, in the opinion of the United Kingdom

and the United States, these instruments have the status

of agreements binding the two States in international

law.

This would be the case whether the instruments

were registered "as presented", 1.e. as agreements

between Hong Kong and the United States, or as agreements

between the United Kingdom, in respect of Hong Kong,

and the United States.
