Sir,

I request you to accept on behalf of the United Kingdom and

Hong Kong the Protocol providing for the three-year extension of

the Long Term Arrangement governing international trade in cotton

textiles, draw up by the Cotton Textiles Committee at its

meeting on the 27th of May, 1970, in Geneva, by addressing to the

Director General of the GATT a letter in the terms of the attached

draft.

I shall be grateful if you will report to me when the

notification of acceptance has been deposited.
