Trade Union Recognition in Hong Kong

Mr. Clive Jenkins, General Secretary of the Association of Scientific Technical and Managerial Staffs (ASTMS) has

written to Mr. Royle suggesting a meeting to discuss the refusal by the Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Co. (HAECO) to recognise the Hong Kong branch of ASTMS which has been officially registered in the Colony as a Trade Union.

2. I recommend that a reply be sent to Mr. Jenkins on the

lines of the attached draft.
