(c) The Labour Advisory Board generally opposed
the provision which added a new offence of blocking a street to existing offences of intimidation. There have been strongly expressed objections to this, and it has now been decided to drop the clause.
Objections have also been raised to the provision which forbids the picketing of a private residence (unless the residence is also a place of business). However, no convincing reasons have been advanced for deleting this clause, and it is therefore intended that it should be retained.
I have received telegram No. 734 which confirms that no other legal points have been raised, and I am hopeful that the draft bill as amended will now proceed without opposition.
