From The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State

30 September, 1970.
Thank you for your letter of 21 September about amendments to the Hong Kong Trade Union Registration Ordinance.
As I am sure you understand, the proposed amendments require detailed study before we can express an opinion. Our Overseas Labour Adviser and legal advisers are now going into the matter and I hope to be able to give you our views fairly soon.
I shall be visiting Hong Kong myself from 9 to 13 October, and I would be glad to have a talk with you after my return from Asia about 23 October.
