From The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State

I am writing on behalf of the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary to thank you for your letter of 24 September about amendments to the Hong Kong Trade Union Registration Ordinance.
As I am sure you will understand, the proposed amendments require detailed study before we can express an opinion.. Our Overseas Labour Adviser and legal advisers are now going into the matter and I hope to be able to give you our views fairly soon.
