However, on that assumption, United Kingdom law would also be very repressive, since, as Citrine makes clear, the right to picket is severely hedged about in our law and depends upon liberal interpretation for its existence. The answer to the critics may therefore possibly lie in a change in instructions to the police rather than a change in the law, proposed or existing.
