The delegation left Taipei Airport for Tokyo in the afternoon of Sunday, 28th September, having been delayed by a typhoon which in turn held back the flights, both incoming and outgoing from Taipei. We did not reach Tokyo until late in the afternoon when we were met by two of our colleagues from the Japanese Textile Trade Union who kindly assisted us in making our way to the hotel in Tokyo.

On the Monday morning we had the opportunity of meeting the principal officers of the Japanese Federation of Textile Workers' Unions (Zensen Domei). This Federation was organised on the 31st July, 1946, its strength then being 117 Unions and 93,972 members. Since that date the strength has increased to 530,749 members.

Meeting with Officers-Headquarters of Zensen Domei.
