Night Work for Women

Messrs. Greenhalgh, Pendergast and Gibson,

representatives of textile workers unions are

to call on the Minister on 17 March. It is expected

that they will wish to raise the matter of the

employment of women on night shift in industrial

undertakings. We should therefore be grateful

by

for the following information/close of play on

12 March.

(a) How many women supervisors were employed

at night as at 28 February 1970? How many factories

employed such women?

(b) How many applications have been received

both before and since 1 March for the employment

of women at night in a non-supervisory role.

What are the corresponding figures for applications

granted and applications under consideration;
