I am sorry that owing to my absence from the Office on leave over Christmas you have had to wait so long for a reply to your letter of 23 December.

I am enclosing a copy of the Hong Kong Year Book for 1969 (we have not yet received the 1970 version), together with a number of pamphlets readily available to us in the Department. I hope that this is the kind of thing you want - at least to start with. If it would help, we could pick out a selection of books, both from our own Library and also from the useful collection built up by the Hong Kong Government Office in London.
