Sir L. onson
Visit of Mr. Philip Haddon-Cave
The full programme for Mr. Haddon-Cave is at flag 'D'. It has been agreed that during the week beginning Monday 23 November he should come back to the FCO to meet those who could not see him at the beginning of October. A provisional programme has been prepared and is attached we have not yet given the details to Mr. Haddon-Cave) You will see we have arranged for him to call on you at 11.30 a.m. on Monday 23 November. Would you like Mr. Wilford or myself to be present ? I shall in any case be seeing Mr. Haddon-Cave on the Friday in that week.
2.
There is one further point to be settled. Should arrangements be made for Mr. Haddon-Cave to call on the Secretary of State ? I understand that the Secretary of State will be very busy over the next few months and, on balance, I am inclined to think we should not bother him with this.
3.
The Governor's reply to your letter about the timing of the announcement of Mr. Haddon-Cave's appointment as Financial Secretary is at flag 'p'.
