This scheme was introduced at the beginning of 1968. It is based on ten offices in urban areas, staffed by district officers with supporting staff. The district officers make themselves accessible to those living within their districts with the object of providing a two-way channel of communication between the people and the Government. The scheme has proved most popular and is providing a useful avenue rod the ventilation of grievances.
