The prisoners convicted in 1967 were all triod in open
court according to due processes of the law, and were given
an opportunity to &fonâ thoasolves. All aro eligible for
full remission. The Hong Kong Covernment are about to make
a further important gesture in the case of the two prisoners
to improve rolations, and it is now up to the Chinoso Govern- /
mont to match our efforts by the release of British subjects
detained in China, and in particular Mr. Johns tcn.
