Confrontation Prisoners

Thank you for your letter of 29th June about the rate of release of confrontation prisoners. Four were released during May, and 19 in June, leaving 92 still held on 1st July. Three come due for release during July and a further two in August. The

enclosed monthly forecast gives an approximate idea of the pattern of releases to be expected from September this year onwards.

The difference you detected between last November's quarterly list and Hong Kong

telegram No. 183 is explained by the death of Tang Chuen at the end of December.
