I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed Mr D. H. JORDAN, M.B.E., J.P., provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure, to be an Official Member of the Legislative Council from 20th July 1970 following the resignation of Mr T.D. SORBY, J. P., with effect from 20th July 1970.

Mr Jordan's previous appointment referred to in your Despatch HKK 1/11 dated 17th April 1969 expired on 8th September 1969 following the return to the Colony of Mr Sorby.
