Three previous Parliamentary Questions have

been asked on the subject of the appointment

of an Ombudsman in Hong Kong. Lord Shepherd

was also questioned on the matter in the House

of Lords in the course of replying to a question

by Lord Brockway in June, 1969 on a more general

issue following the Minister's visit to Hong

Kang during that month. However, the present

Question is clearly a follow-up to another an earlier

of the appointment of Ombudsmen in dependent
