Sir Albert Rodrigues, the Senior Unofficial Member of the Executive
Council, announced today that Mr. R.W. Primrose a senior officer in the
Administrative Service, is being seconded temporarily to the Umelco Office
as Administrative Secretary as from June 15.

in October 1969, the qualifications for the post being wide administrative

who applied was found to be entirely suitable, and Mr. Primrose's appointment
is intended to fill the gap until such time as a more permanent appointment
can be made.
The advertised duties of the post include, in addition to taking
charge of the administration of the Office, the carrying out of research
work on behalf of Unofficial Members of the Executive and Legislative Councils
and interviewing members of the general public and government officials in
conjunction with complaints.
Commenting upon the appointment, Sir Albert Rodrigues, the senior
unofficial member of the Executive Council, said "With Mr. Primrose's
appointment it will be possible to strengthen the machinery for dealing with
public complaints which are received by Umelco."
Sir Albert went on to say
that new premises for the Umelco Office had been obtained on the third floor
of Windsor House and it was hoped to open them early in August.
