The new Parliament is due to be opened on Thursday 2 July. The Cabinet Office has asked for passages which the Foreign and Commonwealth Office wishes to propose for inclusion in the Speech. These passages should be as brief as possible and given in the exact words which it is proposed should be employed in the Speech. Departments wishing to propose passa es should send them to me by 4 p.m. on Tuesday 9 June. Nil returns are required.
Iattach for ease of reference copies of the sections dealing with Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in the Speeches delivered on the Opening and Prorogation. of Parliament on 28 October 1969 and 29 May 1970.
