We agree that Press release should issue on

20 August as proposed. So far as release here is

concerned we have agreed with Sedgwick a shortened

version of your text (which appeare designed more for

local consumption in Hong Kong) which does not differ

in substance from latter, but which is more appropriate

to circumstances here.

2. As regards release for issue in Hong Kong, provided

you see no objection we suggest following amendments to

your text:-

(a) Paragraph 3

Add "after consultation with Foreign and

Commonwealth Office".
