(b) an indication of how things now stand on the Hong Kong
application;

HMG, along with our SPATC partners, contribute towards facilities at Nadi airport in Fiji and some broadly associated facilities in the South Pacific area;
(a)
(e)
some slight amplification of the arrangements whereby our technical colleagues assist with operational advice, staff secondments, etc.;
we may also touch on the further, and also somewhat exceptional, oase of the Colonial Formula assistance towards some facilities in the Anglo-French condominium in the New Hebrides. (Bahrain and Sharjah are, of course, outside the scope of the Question).
The Question is for oral Answer on 18 June, but to meet our Parliamentary Branch timetable we need to put all our material into shape by the latter part of this week, and would accordingly be grateful to have any comments you would wish to offer as soon as possible.
I am also copying this letter to Mr. W. S. Carter in the Hong Kong Department of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and to Mr. R. 0. Carter in 0.D.M. (for whose early comments, if any, we should similarly be grateful) as well as to others interested here.
Yours sincerely,
G. H. J. Bennett

Mr. Raffael, DDOSO.
Mr. McFarlane, OPG.
