The position at the moment is that we have made the most
so far of the delay on the French side in being able to make an officially supported offer. ECCD will continue to press this advantage wherever they can. The Tunnel Company are in a strong, position to squeeze the French by reference to our own offer, ance ma! As against this we believe the Tunnel Company would very much
prefer the British contractor if in the event the French security requirements do not prove markedly easier than our own.
