CATEGORIES OF OVERSEAS OFFICERS ELIGIBLE FOR SUPPLEMENTARY PENSION (SPOS)
There are special requirements for the certification of officers who served in the Sudan, Egypt, Sarawak, North Borneo and the armed forces raised in overseas territories, but for other territories officers are eligible for certification if
A.
they were recruited by the Secretary of State or the Crown Agents from outside the Territory, or otherwise recruited to a normal channel post, were on overseas leave terms of service and were not normally resident locally; or
b. they were members of HMOCS or HMOJ on overseas leave
terms of service, or were designated under OSAS and were not normally resident locally; or
C.
they were local officers who were transferred on overseas leave terms to a non-contiguous territory by or with the approval of the Secretary of State.
