2. At the meeting held in ODM on Friday, 26 September, the general feeling was that of a take-over of expatriate pensions on the approximate lines suggested by ODM was to take place:
X
(a) it would be difficult to justify the exclusion of any country from the new arrangements except for Israel, Rhodesia and the West Indies Federation. In addition, however, it may be possible to exclude, or to make other provision for, countries where special arrangements apply - e.g. India, Pakistan, Burma, Jordan, and Zambia and Malawi (in respect of the Central African Pensions Fund);
(b) the definition of the "expatriate public service pensioner" whose pension was to be taken over posed delicate and different problems in nearly all the countries concerned.
3. It was decided that ODM would do a detailed study, in consultation with the F.C.0., of the situation in all the countries concerned.

4.
ODM has asked for the names of contact points in each of the F.C.0. geographical departments. I should be grateful if recipients would let me have names (by telephone) as soon as possible. Unless I hear to the contrary I will assume that the following departments have already established "contact pointa" as follows:
Gibraltar & South Atlantic Dept.
Pacific and Indian Ocean Dept.
West Indian Department
Mr.Fairclough
Centraal & Southern African Dept. Mr.Dalton
Hong Kong Department
South Asian Department
Mr. Stewart
