Mr. Roberts agreed to re-examine clause 15 in the light of any comments from the local legal profession in Hong Kong.
Paragraph 7.
Mr. Roberts agreed to look again at clause 21 (b).
Paragraph 8.
It was agreed that the department would consult the appropriate authorities in the United Kingdom as to whether the present practice of permitting an accused person in this country to elect to make an unsworn statement from the dock was under review. In any event, it would be more appropriate for any change in such procedure to be introduced on a general basis and not introduced in the context of this particular Bill.
Paragraph 9.
It was agreed that "may" should be substituted for "shall" in subsections (1) and (2) in clause 31.
