The Council considered Memorandum

The Council ADVISED and the Governor ORDERED :

that, subject to the deletion of clause 14(1)(e), the

Prevention of Bribery Bill be published in the Gazette

for general information prior to further consideration

being given to the bill by the Executive Council in the

light of public comment prior to its introduction into

the Legislative Council.

The Governor agreed to consider separately a suggestion for

the inclusion of an Unofficial or Unofficial Members in the Target

Committee.

The Attorney General agreed to give an undertaking upon intro-

duction of the bill into the Legislative Council that he or the

Solicitor General personally would exercise the power conferred by

clause 14 of the bill unless in practice the frequency of its use

made it essential to delegate the power further (in which case it

would not be delegated below Principal Crown Counsel).
