MORE EMERGENCY REGULATIONS REPEALED

Four more emergency regulations have been repealed and one amended. Today's (Friday) Government Gazette contains an Emergency Regulations (Ropoal) Order and an Emergency (Principal) (Amendment) Regulations which

effect this.

The Order repeals Emergency (Principal) Regulations 50, 51, 119D

Regulations 50 and 51 give power to control the entry and departure of ships and aircraft and to detain ships, aircraft and vohiclos as well

as people on board. They are no longer necessary as similar power exist

in the Public Order Ordinance.

Regulation 119D makes possession of a simulated bomb an offence and 119E provides a defence to a person charged with such an offence by showing that the object was not intended for use as a simulated bomb.

The Summary Offencos (Amendment) Bill, recently enacted, makes similar provisions so that both those regulations can now be repealed.

Rogulation 1194, which has not been repealed, makos it an offence for any one to frequent or be found in promises containing any arms or ammunition, any offensive weapon, any explosive substance, any corrosive substance or any simulatod bomb.
