Disproportion of expatriate benefits to basic pay.

TRANSTERS FROM JUDICIARY (INCLUDING MAGISTRATES) TO LEG/L DEFT.

TRIAL OF CIVIL ACTIONS

Prolonged trial increases costs.

Trials could be shortened

(i) By nininising note taking by Judge.

Shorthand writers to be provided.

(ii)

By providing qualified interpreter.

This is at present uncertain.

More qualified interpreters required.

Present salary scales inadequate to attract.

This also affects administration of justice in lower courts,

DISTRICT COURT ORDINANCE S.32A (AS AMENDED).

Appeal by Attorney General against acquittal in Criminal Cases.

"S. 324. In appeal shall lie at the suit of the Attorney General to the Full Court against a verdict or order of acquittal, which shall include any order quashing or dismissing; a charge for any alleged defect therein or want of jurisdiction. Such an appeal shall relate to patters of law only
