Thank you very much for your formal letter dated 28th February, 1969 in which you asked if Princess Alexandra would become honorary "Commandant General" of the Hong Kong Police Force and the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force. Her Royal Highness has asked me to say that she is delighted to accept this invitation.
I wonder if you would please keep me informed as to the date and contents of any announcement that you may wish to make in the near future regarding this appointment.
