I am grateful to Godden in Lord Shepherd Office for sending me a copy of the letter from Mr. Anthony Royle, M.P. recording his discussions about the Hong Kong Police with Lieutenant-Commander Lynch Maydon, M.P.
I now enclose a letter dated February 11 which the Prime Minister has received from Commander Maydon recording his satisfaction with the progress which has been made.
It would be helpful if the Prime Minister were able to write to Commander Maydon shortly and indicate to him when an announcement is likely to be made. The Prime Minister might wish to do this in the form of an Answer to an arranged Parliamentary RECEIVEestion from Commander Maydon.
