the need to consult Princess Alexandria first-?
I wrote to you on February 13 about the Hong Kong Police. I now enclose a further letter which the Prime Minister has received from Lieutenant- Commander Lynch Maydon, M.P.
The Prime Minister has now decided that it would be right for him to allow Commander Maydon to put down an arranged oral Question to him on this subject, which the Prime Minister would take at the end of Questions. We should need to arrange this with Commander Maydon two days before we were ready to make the announcement.
The Prime Minister would like to reply to Commander Maydon telling him about the arrangements for the oral question. We shall await your advice on when an announcement is likely to be possible, so that we can give some indication about this tó Commander Maydon. If, however, you are unlikely to be able to give us guidance on this within the next few days, we shall reply without this information.
