Thank you for your letter of
17 February about the Hong Kong Police

Force The Queen has approved,
the proposal
informally, to accord the title "Royal"
to the Hong Kong Police and Auxiliary
Police Forces; and Princess Alexandra
has agreed, again informally, to become
honorary "Commandant General" to the
two Forces. We are now making the
necessary formal submission to the Palace
We have informed the Governor of
Hong Kong of the position reached and of
to provid the Prime Minister's decision/by way of an arranged Parliamentary Question.
