GOVERNOR CONGRATULATES POLICE FORCES ON "ROYAL" TITLA

The Governor sont a letter this (Friday) morning to the Commissioner of Police, Mr. E.C. Eatos to express to him and to all mombers of the Royal Hong Kong Police Force and the Royal Hong Kong hudliary Police Force his "yory great pleasure at learning the news of the marks of appreciation that have been bestowd on the two Forcos by Hor Majosty The Queon".
Sir David Trench said: "This announcement dll, I know, be rocoivod with great satisfaction by both those who have boom intimately associated with the work of the Police Forces and have first-hand knowledge of thoir high standards, and by those many others who have good reason to be grateful for the help and protection they have received from the Polico.
"All of us in Hong Kong are proud of the Police and confident that the two Forces will never fail to display the sang high standards of courage, officiency and integrity that they have established for themsolvos, and
that they ill always remain worthy of their now honours.
"My congratulations and thanks to you all.
