Dear jaminara,
Six copies of a Special Branch study of the border
village of Lin Ma Hang are enclosed for your information and such distribution as you think necessary.
2.
This is rather a special case because here the villagers own and cultivate land on the Chinese side of the border; elsewhere it is the Chinese who cross into British Territory to till their fields. Nonetheless, the picture is a fairly representative one of the sort of pressures to which border villagers are exposed and, as such, it is thought should be of some use as background material.
